Im a 20 year old with a knack for computers, i'm a nerd but i like it. I play world of warcraft and im currently rolling a level 85 Nelf Fury Warrior. I'm not going to defend myself for playing this game, it is what it is and haters are gunna hate so let them.

I have a Facebook full of friends but only a handful of real friends, i have THE best girlfriend in the world. Yeah we have differences and argue time to time about meaningless crap but we always talk it through and that what makes her so special. My friends are not only the best in the world they are my actual foundation. I love my family but without my friends my life would make no sense and i would be in a dark pit of self loathing somewhere. SO my friends, family and girlfriend are my world.

I HATE fake people who insult for the sake of insulting. People who publish every piece of their life on facebook and people who will take it out on the little guy. Well message to those fuckers out there. In the future when your phone goes wrong, or you laptop breaks and you have no idea what to do? Remember those "nerds" who you publicly humiliated in school will the ones helping you.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Family Guy. I love it.

I'm way to sarcastic for my own good, I'm a very cynical bitter & twisted young man. Sometimes i wish i wasn't but again i am what i am.

I find it hard to convey my feelings to anyone and i use my pre mentioned cynical-ness to create a wall to hide behind. After arriving home i sat down to my wonderful new Alienware M11x to a evening full of WoW, Facebook, Twitter and obviously blogger. I was essentially wasting time until my next Glee fix came, now i know i could view my light-hearted mildly comedic crack online, With E4 however it allows me to prolong the awesomeness for weeks and weeks.

Now as mentioned about it has been rescheduled due to the fact my mum "religiously" watches The Biggest Loser.

Now ive never watched this show merely giggled at the premise. The intial thing is that its called the biggest loser? What the hell ? I know its suppose to be a double entendre but talk about kicking them when they're down. They are on the show to lose weight that essentially calls them losers but hey ho you win some you lose some. HAHA! see what i did there? Yeah enough of that crap. Moving on to my next point, Apprently every week they do exercise and eat healthy food and at the end of the week they have a weigh in. The couple who have lost the least weight collectively, get eliminated from the competition. Surely those who have lost the least weight need help.

No of course the most important part of this "program" is that during the weigh in the women are dress in bikini tents and the glorious ripples are visible to all, no wonder this is on after water shed. I honestly cant believe that ITV are allowed to air this. Its basically the politically correct way to show fat people jogging on television for the enjoyment of the great british public to laugh at.

Phew thats over, its too easy in this day and age to poke fun at programs on TV so guess what? I'm going to keep doing it purely because i can and no one can stop me! MWAHAHAHAHAHA

To add insult to injury during the ad break before The Biggest Loser they had an advert for surgery to lose weight? Draw in the fat audience and BAM, have surgery fatties! Thats what ITV are saying not me!

Anyways give me some tele to watch and i'll rate, rant and rip apart anything you throw at me

Good evening all Glee seems to be showing Glee now and we've already had a Cheesus Christ joke. Oh this is gunna be a good episode!

Laters,

BLOGGERS!

New Year, New Start

Damn so my last post was part of my travel blog. Tomorrow will be the start of our 10th week here. You will all be happy to know that we have a little under 4 weeks till we come home, 29 days including today to be exact. So get the balloons and champagne out because we both know you are all dying for us to come home, but then there's so much we haven’t done yet! You lot are selfish :(

One of our favourite visits so far was the David Sheldrick Centre: a wonderful little place in Nairobi National Park. It was started in 1977 to honour to the memory of a famous Naturalist (That’s not the one that believes in living naked), David Sheldrick MBE. The founder warden of Tsavo East National Park: one of Kenya’s largest national parks. The centre is an orphanage for baby elephants and sometime baby rhinos. For 1 hour everyday, the centre opens its doors to allow the public to see the keepers feed the elephants as well as watching the elephants play in the mud pool which has been made for them. This was such an amazing experience for us both, although Ruth decided she wanted to sleep in the middle and so just led on the ground for a bit. That’s her version. Anyways she fainted…..for the second time this holiday, so I’m winning with zero faints. There are some photos on facebook of the elephants, so check them out. None of the elephants we saw were over 5 years old. Elephants mature at the same speed as humans, apparently. I’m nearly 21 and I’m not half as mature as the smallest elephant, which was about 1 and a half months. After the elephants are several years old, they will be returned to one of the Tsavo national parks as part of the charities relocation program. They have a website, which is www.davidsheldrickwildlifetrust.org. Go have a look at it and sponsor an elephant; Ruth and i are going too.

We have also visited several childrens orphanages. This is really where the culture shock really set in. Some of the children we saw and spoke to only have a name, as some of them are way to young to know exactly where they are from. At the first orphanage the guy that runs it explained that they work incredibly hard to trace the children’s background and to check on their parents. Some children are that are taken in are just found walking by the side of the road.

The second orphanage we've been to and still continue going to is a bigger organization. This orphanage houses around 42 children, but at lunch has between 100 and 150, as it caters to some of the poorer children in the area and offers a free lunch to help ease the strain of the poor families in the area. The Second time we went there we met a new little girl, who was just 5 years old. One of the other helpers, who taught at a school, knew her and then one day another teacher at the school explained how she was beaten by her guardian. So social services got involved and in a matter of days the was relocated. Now as awful as that sounds, 1 week into being at the children’s centre the little girl is happier than she's been in a long time. This is fantastic facility and it’s really clear to see the positive impact that the people involved with it are having on those childrens lives. Ruth and I spend most of our time there, being dragged around by children, aged between 5-10. They speak very little English and we speak very little Swahili or Kikuyu, but we get by.

Now on to something a little more touristy: Ruth's favorite thing we've done so far was the Giraffe centre. I’m sure most of you have seen the photos on facebook. However the photos just can’t do it justice, as this was one of the most incredible experience we've ever had in our lives. The centre was created as an educational facility for children of Kenya, to learn about their wildlife and to understand what they must do to help protect it. The centre obviously is also open for tourists and as you saw, you go on to a platform around 15ft high where you are face-to-face with the giraffes and you can feed them pellets. I really though that this would be a bit samey before we got there, as we had seen giraffes before, but this was better than any of the giraffe sightings we'd seen before. Both Ruth and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit there, and we really hope we can do it just one more time before we leave as it is amazing. I’m pretty sure they have a website too. They also run this really nice program, where they take 20-30 children from the city slums and take them on a visit to a crocodile centre and several other charities including the David Sheldrick centre before ending up at the giraffe centre. They do ask for donations here and I believe for $150 you can provide the above. I’m not forcing you to donate its just there if you want too.

We also went to the Nairobi National Museum which was especially amazing for me. To those who know, Kenya is sometimes referred to as the ‘cradle of life’, as some of the oldest and most complete skeletons ever found of homo-sapiens’ ancestors have been found in Kenya. Some of these skeletons are on show in the museum’s hall of mammals. The museum is a little small and with Kenya’s pricing systems, as a non-resident, most places are quite expensive. However, even though it’s a little small and quite pricey for what it is, any visit to the countries capital isn't complete without a visit to this small space. There are some amazing exhibits and the hall of mammals is especially incredible and well worth the visit. The exhibit of East African birds is also very good and shows a wide range of bids from the horribly ugly Marabou stalks to the very pretty small birds.

On Saturday just gone, we went to the 14 Falls; a picturesque set of 14 waterfalls. We walked around the falls and then crossed over to the other side on a very small boat, We decided we wanted to go for a swim and just incase we could, we bought our swimming costumes. The guide we were with, Joshua, took us to one of the highest points of the falls where we could jump into the water below. After we jumped from the rocks a couple of times, Joshua took us to the “Adventure walk”, which was a walk across the river that led to the falls. Crossing the river involved slowly walking over very slippery rocks through very fast flowing water.

Anyways, we have so much to say but when typing it, it doesn't seem like enough so we'll leave it at that to wet your appetites about coming to Kenya. We have very little time left but, for me, at least this has been one of the most, if not the most, exciting experiences, I’ve ever had in my life. It has been well worth the money, the time and the patience. The African people are extremely friendly on the whole and will bend over backwards to help even strangers. Now, Ruth and I are going to enjoy our coffees in the sun on a wonderfully warm November evening (sounds weird, doesn’t it?). Then we shall return home and enjoy some House M.D, seasons 1-6, which we got on DVD for ksh500 (about £4.50). Anyways, we love you all and we hope you enjoy your last 34 days of quiet, because when Ruth and I get back we'll have lots of stories to tell and lots of photos to bore you all with.

Ruth: A little bit of advice: if you ever come to Kenya, don’t stand on any ant nests. The ants are huge and if you stand on them, they decide to really chow down on your toes.

Lots of love

Ruth & Hallam

P.S. I have a mini-projector which I will be carrying around with me after we come home, so please feel free to invite us over for a cup of tea or mulled wine, which will be more appropriate when we return home and we'll be happy to show you the mere near 600 photos we have taken. That’s 600 photos so far by the way.

HA 4th October

So its now the 21st of October and writing this blog has become a little of a side thought when we're not busy enjoying ourselves anyways heres the latest updates :)

Hallam:Well god damn here we are at a third of our trip. In the beginning it felt as though time was DRAGGIIIIIIIIIING! Due to the fact our sleep patterns were so messed up. Now it seems to be flying by. Once again we find ourselves at village market, However the free internet connections don't seem to be working at the moment so im writing this on TextEdit and will post it at a later date. I have to admit i do feel slightly homesick missing my family and friends. Except Hannah and Sophy (lets see if they really read this blog).

Ruth and i have spent most of the time between this time and last relaxing. Ruth has taught her first maths lesson with many more to come hopefully. We have spent more time at the farm helping out with random tasks. We went to Lake Bagoria last weekend and spent some time near the geysers and hot springs. I think ive grown quite a lot in the last month however as the 15ft geysers seemed more like a hippo fart on the surface of the water. Sadly since the last time anyone had been there the lake has gotten a lot deeper with more rainfall and therefore more cold water and a greater volume creating greater pressure the geysers at this time aren't so impressive. However there were some hot springs which looked a little bit like rock pools with BOILING! water coming out of them, apparently the done thing here is to bring an egg and a plastic bag then tie a string between the bag and a big stick and the dip the bag in the water for a few minutes then enjoy a nice boiled egg. At the same lake we also saw some baby Pumba, yes i know this is a lion king character but its actual Swahili for Wild pig or pig or something. We have also acquired a tortoise. In the words of my mum " For god sake i asked him to get a cat and he's come back with a tortoise and a bull" Actually whilst i remember it if another person asks me what state im from i'm going to scream. In most of our travels we have been in very rural very un-touristy kenya, what i refer to as real kenya, where they have never or very rarely see a white person and therefore were called mzungo meaning white person in swahili but in village market is a wide mix of native kenyans, europeans, asians and americans with very few british people. In one month of being here i have to say Kenya is not what i expected when you think of kenya you think poverty and hunger but even though thats visible in some areas people are happy. Way happier than a lot of people in the UK who have pretty much everything.

Ruth: I never know what to write in things like this. Like Hallam, I'm also having an amazing time here, even though on some days we find ourselves with very little to do. I am missing my family and friends though, ESPECIALLY Hannah and Sophie. They better read this now :P And something slightly scary happened yesterday: I saw a Big Brother advert on TV. I'm now convinced that it's followed us here. One thing to note is that they have amazing tea here, like the best in the world. I've also discovered the wonders of sugar cane on the other hand I found out that the chicken nuggets here aren't chicken nuggets.

Laters all

Dang look how times fly........

Whoa so truth is Ruth and i have been having WAYYYYYYY to much fun to write a blog on a regular basis so you have to deal with when we feel like it :P

So again today we find ourselves at the village market which is actually a shopping mall so what a missleading name. Its like the Swindon Brunel but with a HUGE swimming pool, bowling alley and a cinema :) So its actually more like the whole of Swindon.

Anyways we had an exciting few weeks with lots to write about it its finding the words and time to do so, so i'll try my best.

One thing about kenya is that if youre a non-resident its expensive, we went to a wildlife reserve called Lake Nakuru, 100's of KM of Grasslands, mountains and lakes. It was incredible. However for a non-kenyan its 3500 kenyan shillings for an under 18 and 6000 for over 18 where as for an over 18 keyan it was on 900 shillings. So intially it was like WHAT A RIP! After a while though we were so blown away by the sheer beauty of the place that we forgot how much we paid. After a day in the car taking photos of Lions and Giraffes, Ruth is still looking for her tiger, we stood on top of Baboon Cliff, Named appropriately for the large population of Baboons which reside there and over looked the whole of the reserve. Excuse me for sounding like a woosy girl but it was breath taking. After this Ruth and i sat in a car and drove under a lion. Yes drove under. I'll show you the pictures and you'll see what i mean.

So we've seen animals, we've seen people. I really cant explain well enough the beauty of this country.

However you ever come to Kenya please be aware that the +2 time difference is completely diffent to african time. Keyans will say a time to meet some place but it could really be any time around that time could be 3 hours earlier or 4 hours later. Just remember to try and write this in to your itinerary.

See you all soon.

Day 2

So it just so happens that we were in Limuru today so we decided to pop to the internet cafe for 5 mins.

We were told this would be a cultural shock and they were right. Although when you think kenya you think Safari, you dont think HUGE metropolitan city that Nairobi clearly is. We drove through the city for a few hours through heavy traffic. One thing to note here is depending how you view it Kenyan's are either the best drivers in the world or the worst. After leaving the city the thing that really strikes you is the red soil and the expansive land full of crops which with the rolling hills and green isnt that disimilar from Wiltshire, or it would be if the green wasn't splashed with the yellow of bannanas. When we got home we said hello to the two gorgeous little puppies and then looked at the green warehouses, simply greenhouses but massive.

This morning we travelled to Limuru and on the way stopped at the tea plantation where one of the workers showed us how to pick the tea. When we got to Limuru the shock started it was a large town with everything you expect of a british town but busier and more friendly. By friendly i mean someone actually exclaimed in Swahili that "the white people have arrived".
We stoped at a mechanics for them to look at a car and the way they worked is incredible, compared to the UK they work with half the tools in half the time. In the time it takes a british mechanic to put a car on the lift, lift it in the air and take an masssive intake of air, through pursed lips, a kenyan mechanic has taken the engine out taken it apart found's what is wrong and fixed it.

Anyways we better shoot could be a few days before we update again hopefully we'll have some photo's by then.

Love to you all :)

See you all soon

Day 1 - Dubai Airport

Well, even though we've talked about it for weeks and weeks possibly months and months the day has finally arrived when im sat in Dubai airport using their free charger stations for laptops and their free WiFi service. The flight out from Gatwick was an interesting one on Emirates, seems Emirates are well ahead of the curve when it comes to nice planes. I do however have a problem with airlines that allow Economy passengers to walk through first class and see what were not getting, thanks a bloody bunch. Best part of the journey so far for me was setting my little TV thingy infront of my seat to the camera view out the front of the plane, They had two camera one directly beneath the plane looking down and one looking forward out the front of the plane, anyways i set mine to the front view and looked like a complete idiot when i pulled stupid faces making stupid noises and pretended i was driving the plane.
I mean its a skill, not many people can walk into Gatwick's north terminal and just fly a A330.

Ruth and i have a confession though; when we searched for flights to Nairobi we didnt exactly look for perks of the flight we clicked that little "cheapest first option" but by doing that i think we've found an airline we both love and would recommend.

The staff were polite the planes were clean and the first thing we were given was a menu with smoked salmon on it. Now im not a snob or anything but smoked salmon still has a certain status attributed to it. Ruth made a friend in the shape of a man going to Hong Kong, he tried to lure her to his "place" in the Philippines, Ruth: He did not, he just said he had a place in the Philippines. Well im writing now and i want to make a sinister story MWHAHAHAHAHA.

So thats about it so far we're both sat on a cold floor with another 50 minutes to go until our next flight boards. Then in a few hours we'll be landing in Nairobi at which point im sure the blogging and facebooking will stop for a few days.

Peace y'all

Hope Uni's going well for people.

Hallam & Ruth

Night before the day after

Here we are on the eve of D-Day and i know i didn't blog when i said i would, but honestly who missed it, im sure all of my 3 followers wept into their pillows every night i hadn't posted to blogger. Well its you and the fact i've actually been quite busy with work, going into hospital, Pewsey carnival and then packing, so i retract the "FUCK YOU!" and replace it with a slightly less agressive "i sometimes show my dislike of you by shitting in your shoes" This is a new fad which we call the Goodhew Policy.

Any how i digress, the point is i fly to kenya tomorrow which means i will probably move to a travel blog for a while which no doubt i'll link up with this some how.

Hope you enjoy the next 3 months and i wish you all well with your endeavors, such as Uni or work or generally dossing.

On another note i'm thinking of starting a youtube channel with Fortuitous me. I need some ideas, i want to draw the trolls in and spit them out.

Guy's love to you all! I will miss you all but sometimes a man just has to get on a plane with his stunning girlfriend fly 2 hrs into the future enjoy some sun, sea and safari (version 5.0.1, thats some technical humor for you there), then return home, by going back in time 2 hrs. HOLY SHIT! Planes have flux capacitors.

On this monumental discovery,

Kwaheri

A proper post

So i have been reading several blogs in the past few weeks and it seems to me that unless you whinge, moan or generally have something really funny to say you dont get many followers.

With that in mind i feel it is only right that i follow this trend like a sheep to it's shepherd just so i can see that 2 followers raise to many hundreds (here's hoping). So today rather than whinge ive decided to moan a little and try and have something very funny to say. Now as some of you know who are reading this im trying to write a decent comedy bit. I have lots of material of which is funny some not so funny, but its difficult to compile as one big bit. It seems not as many people like my bit about shooting the tenor from the go compare advert, is it just me he annoys? Personally i think we should boycot those adverts until they stop polluting my television license, on the other hand anyone not visiting compare the market.com after a stunning campaign from compare the meerkat obviously has a mind of there own and isnt swayed by the advertisers evil agenda, but i'm not that guy. I'm the guy who sits there with a sky+ remote wishing i could fast forward through the heaping pile of shit that is day-time television waiting for the glorious adverts to come on.

Anyone who has watched TV during the day knows that theres only so much Jeremy kyle, loose women, various buy crap at car boot sale or find in your house and sell at auction programs you can deal with in one day. On that note does anyone think Cash in the attic is actually bullshit? I've only seem them search their attics like 5 times the rest of the programs they sift through the colossal mountain of crap they've accumulated in their spare room. Anyways back to my original point. I sit there watching TV and adverts with much cynicism. I criticise, i insult, i moan and generally shout at adverts i dont like. The aforementioned go compare if i cant reach the remote i put my fingers in my ears and scream till its over but i know adverts i like and those i dont.
Advertising geniuses around the world know the key to a good advert is one that appeals to its target audience. Which means buy watching an advert you can get a general gist of who the advertising companies are aiming for. An example, the head and shoulders advert with the man in the shower with several very attractive women dressed in white nurse uniforms. Now every man knows that simple maths equation that goes: white clothes + water = see through, therefore thinking about who this advert appeals too we can conclude that the adverting company responsable for the head and shoulders ads, are not aiming for middle aged women.

Again with day time TV the ads seem to be bingo adverts. Now i dont know much about the mass population at home during the day but im pretty sure not everyone plays bingo online. I have to be honest though as i dont work for any major televising organisation i can say that ITV is the worst! I see more ads on there for bingo, cash 4 gold rip-offs and between pay-day loan websites that ive come to believe that during the day the proportion of the nation who isnt working, plays bingo until they lose all their money, they try and gain some back buy selling the gold "which they have had in the family for years", they get ripped off their and so finish off by falling into the 2000 odd % APR that is tied in with the money websites. Then again with these adverts lies a greater evil, the evil that is the reason people are at work. Injury lawyers for you and the like, seriously those adverts are the worst on tele. If the guy fitting a fire alarm, fits fire alarms for a living surely he would know its the wrong kind of ladder and therefore wouldn't be stupid enough to climb the ladder. If he knew and still climbed then its his own bloody fault and im not surprised he fell. Has this country become so like america that our own stupidity has to be blamed on someone else?
Don't get me wrong i'm all up for quick money and free money, but i dont believe that if i fell over because i was too busy looking at a women's breasts that i didn't notice a fucking wet floor and fell over and bashed my knee that i would sue the building, Although i may claim to at the time to save face.

As you can see i'm highly opinionated and my blog will only get funnier in time, i hope, So please leave you're comments below. I'll also post this to facebook so i can widen my audience slightly. I will keep blogging till im blue in the face so follow me.

Thanks for reading

Have a nice day

New blog on monday.

Travelling

So guys i have finally started putting together a proper comedy set, getting really excited about it now.
